Dubai has officially unveiled the Shared Digital Channels Initiative, developed in collaboration with several government entities. This strategic move introduces a unified, user-centric digital government model aimed at transforming how residents, businesses, and visitors access public services across the emirate.
š A Seamless, Integrated Digital Experience for All
The initiative is designed to simplify access to services by integrating them into consolidated platforms. Whether youāre a resident, a business owner, or a tourist, the new model ensures your interaction with government services is smoother, faster, and more efficient.
The launch event was attended by key government figures including Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, as reported by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).
š± Government Services to Be Unified Under Seven Key Digital Platforms
This landmark development comes after Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al MaktoumāCrown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubaiāgave his formal approval in February 2025.
Under the new structure, all government services will be delivered through seven specialized platforms:
-
Dubai Now ā for individual services
-
Invest in Dubai ā for business-related services
-
Visit Dubai ā for tourists and visitors
-
Four sector-specific platforms ā targeting transportation, justice, construction, and trade sectors
The initiative is spearheaded by Digital Dubai, which oversees the implementation and governance of these shared digital channels.
šÆ Strengthening Dubaiās Global Leadership in Digital Governance
The initiative aligns with Dubaiās broader digital strategy to position itself among the top three global cities in digital government service delivery.
According to Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, āThe āShared Digital Channelsā initiative, approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed earlier this year, reflects Dubai Governmentās commitment to delivering a seamless, integrated digital experience through dedicated, round-the-clock platformsācementing the emirateās status as a global hub for technology and innovation in service of people and in attracting high-quality investments.ā
š Embracing the Future of Government Service Delivery
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubaiās Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), further emphasized the need for unified access:
āDigital channels have become the primary means through which customers access a wide array of government services and process their transactions. This underscores the critical importance of developing shared digital platforms and advancing integration among government entities. Customers increasingly perceive the government as a single, connected entity capable of fulfilling their needs through one or a small number of unified platforms, without the need to navigate multiple channels and service windows.ā
š Shared Mobility Channel: Revolutionizing Transport Services in Dubai
The newly launched Shared Mobility Channel, Dubaiās Unified Gateway for City-Wide Mobility Services, plays a key role in this transformation. It ensures seamless access to all modes of transport, from public and shared mobility options to private taxis.
Mobility remains at the core of government services, as 747.1 million riders used public and shared transport services in 2024. Dubai is home to 2.5 million registered vehicles, while nol cards in circulation have exceeded 39 million.
āThe new platform enhances the customer experience by providing streamlined access to both government and private sector services through a single, intuitive interface that supports integration and leverages emerging technologies,ā Al Tayer added.
