Located on merged Uruguay and São Paulo islands, the development will house 24 villas
Amali Properties has started construction on Amali Island at The World Islands development off Dubai’s coast, with three villas selling for AED 400 million before ground-breaking.
The ceremony brought together officials from Amali Properties, DUTCO Construction Co., and Van Oord, who will handle marine works and dredging.
“Breaking ground on Amali Island is a proud moment for us. We wanted this project to embody what modern luxury should be – personal, intimate, and unforgettable. It is about delivering a deeply personal experience for those who desire privacy, beauty, and convenience. Amali Island offers an unparalleled living experience, where the island itself becomes part of the home, providing a connection to nature that is both intimate and grand,” Ali Sajwani, CEO and Co-founder of Amali Properties said.

The development’s Villa Avatea, positioned on a private islet, sold for AED200 million. The 60,000 sq. ft. residence includes seven bedrooms across three floors, a basement, saunas, spa pools, entertainment systems, and sports facilities.
Two Villa Aria units sold for AED 100 million each, spanning 45,000 sq. ft. with two interior options – Ultra and Terra styles.
“Amali Island was born out of a desire to create something truly exceptional; it is more than just a collection of homes; it is a carefully crafted retreat designed to offer an unrivalled sense of serenity and exclusivity. We are thrilled to see the warm reception this project has received and the huge success we have achieved within less than a year of its launch,” Amira Sajwani, COO and Co-founder of Amali Properties added.
The AED2 billion ($544.5 million) project, set for completion in Q1 2027, will begin piling works in March 2025. Located on merged Uruguay and São Paulo islands, the development will house 24 villas.
Each residence will feature 50 metres of beachfront and views of Dubai’s skyline, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Khalifa.
Residents will reach the island via private boats or a floating helipad, with an eight-minute journey from mainland Dubai. The development includes a 9,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, docking facilities, and mainland parking.
