Dubai Introduces WhatsApp-Based Ejari Registration for Tenants via Aqari Platform
Dubai tenants can now complete their Ejari registration and update it through WhatsApp, eliminating the need for in-person visits for customers. This innovative initiative has been rolled out by Injaz Real Estate Registration Trustee through its digital platform Aqari, in collaboration with the Dubai Land Department (DLD).
Through this platform, users can connect directly with official Service Trustees in real time, streamlining a range of essential real estate processes. These include updates to personal and company details, amendments to title deed information, property valuation services, map issuance, ownership registration, and more. This one-on-one digital communication eliminates the need to visit physical offices, resulting in a faster and more efficient experience, accessible from anywhere in the world.
Changing Market Dynamics
Citing recent data from the Dubai Land Department, real estate firm Allsopp & Allsopp reported notable shifts in rental activity for May 2025. Rental renewal volume dropped by 19%, while value decreased by 17% on a month-on-month basis. Conversely, new rental contract volume increased by 15%, with contract value rising by 9% in the same time frame. These figures suggest a notable transition in tenant behavior, with many now choosing suburban areas over prime urban locations in response to rising rental prices.
Industry Collaboration Drives Innovation
“The Dubai Land Department firmly believes that partnerships and cooperation with the private sector are crucial for realizing our ambitious objectives. Our aim is to reinforce Dubai’s leading position in the global real estate market,” said Khalifa Alsalfa, then Director of the Real Estate Services Pioneering Department at Dubai Land Department.
He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to create a seamless user experience for real estate transactions.
Global Convenience at Your Fingertips
“Our goal is to simplify and modernize real estate transactions for properties in Dubai. With this new feature, clients can now complete essential steps such as Ejari registration entirely online, no matter where they are in the world, ensuring convenience, efficiency, and global accessibility,” stated Majid Almazrouei, General Manager of Injaz Real Estate Registration Trustee.
