The improvements are expected to increase capacity by 50 percent to 80 percent upon completion

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority upgrades traffic at locations within the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant infrastructure project to enhance access points for four residential neighborhoods, aimed at improving entry and exit journey times by over 50 percent.

The project will upgrade entry and exit points connecting Nadd Hessa, Al Awir 1, Al Barsha South, and Wadi Al Safa 3 to roads including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Hessa Street.

In a post via X on Sunday, RTA said, “Aligned with leadership directives to enhance infrastructure in residential areas, support urban expansion, and elevate residents’ quality of life, #RTA has launched a project to improve access points for four neighborhoods. The upgraded entry and exit points—located along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Hessa Street—will facilitate smoother access to and from Nadd Hessa, Al Awir 1, Al Barsha South, and Wadi Al Safa 3. Upon completion, these access points are expected to increase capacity by 50% to 80%.”

The improvements are expected to increase capacity by 50 percent to 80 percent upon completion. The project will benefit more than 400,000 residents across the four communities.

“This project reflects RTA’s commitment to continually enhance infrastructure in residential areas, including road networks, lighting, and stormwater drainage, to accommodate increasing traffic volumes,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA.
